• Huntington Hills Park Update

    October 7, 2020
  • Dear Huntington Hills Residents,

We wanted to let you know the trustees made the difficult decision to remove the hoops on the basketball courts at the park. After numerous issues regarding language, behavior, vandalism, and excessively loud music, we felt this is the only recourse.

As a board, we have talked to individuals at the park one-on-one, posted signs, called the sheriff, etc, but to no avail, nothing has changed. While it is disappointing because we know residents use the hoops, it has to be carefully balanced with the quality of life for the entire neighborhood, including those residents that live next to the park and the families with small children that want to visit the park. They have been affected the most.

At the end of the day, the hoops are a luxury, not a necessity. We must all take an active role in the betterment of our community. We will reevaluate the situation in the spring. The trustees are also looking at options that include privatizing the park in order to better regulate the area.

We appreciate your support with this decision. If you have any questions or suggestions, we invite you to attend the October board meeting. (Location and date TBD)
