Subject: Results of Amendments Voting
Date: September 20, 2023
Dear Residents of Huntington Hills,
We hope this letter finds you well and enjoying the last of the summer season in our amazing community. We want to take this opportunity to thank each one of you who participated in the voting process for the proposed amendments to our Declaration and Bylaws. Your engagement and dedication to our neighborhood’s well-being are commendable and much appreciated.
After careful consideration and consultation with our home owners association (HOA) attorneys, we are pleased to announce that the voting results for proposed Amendments A, B, C, and D have been validated and will stand with the final results below:
Amendment Brief Description % of Total Homes For Amendment Needed to Pass % of Total Homes For % of Total Homes Against Amendment Pass/Fail A Rental home restrictions 75% 75% 14.46% Pass B Allows shed installations 75% 57.60% 32.11% Fail C Increased dues rate 66.67% 61.03% 29.90% Fail D Electronic communications 66.67 80.39% 9.07% Pass The trustees will work with the HOA attorneys to ensure the passing amendments are added to our association filing with Fairfield County. All amendment language is available on the “Documents” page of the Huntington Hills Civic Association (HHCA) website: www.huntington-hills.org
We understand that the voting process for these amendments has sparked discussions, questions, and concerns among residents. As trustees, we want to assure you that we have thoroughly assessed the situation with utmost transparency and professionalism. Our HOA attorneys have confirmed the validity of the voting process and the decision of the trustees to accept the outcome. We firmly believe that this process of voting is an essential part of our bylaws to ensure all residents have a say in how our wonderful community operates.
We acknowledge that these amendments do not have unanimous support among residents, and we respect the diverse perspectives within our community. However, as trustees, it is our responsibility to make decisions that safeguard the long-term interests of our community and abide by the governing documents of our association.
While we stand firm on these voting results, we also want to emphasize that your voices matter and are open to hearing your concerns. If needed, we encourage residents to raise these issues again in the future for further discussion or even another vote.
Other concerns have been raised about our bylaws and declarations outside of the amendment voting process. We have engaged the HOA attorneys in that extra work and have paid the additional costs associated with it. We have a written answer from our attorney and have made that legal opinion and summary available to read at your convenience on the “Documents” page of the HHCA website: www.huntington-hills.org
Your HOA trustees are committed to promoting a transparent and inclusive decision-making process. Should you have any questions or need further information, please contact us via email at HHCAtrustees@gmail.com. Your active participation is vital in shaping the future of our beloved Huntington Hills community.
Thank you for your continued support, understanding, and commitment to our collective success as a community.
Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
Huntington Hills Civic Association, Inc.
