In Huntington Hills, your safety is our priority. We’re always looking for ways to ensure that our neighborhood remains a safe and welcoming place for all residents. With that in mind, we wanted to share some recent safety updates and reminders to help keep our community secure.
Chain Installed at the Park Parking Lot
One of the latest safety measures we’ve implemented is placing a chain across the parking lot at the back of the park. This decision was made after noticing an increase in vehicle traffic after park hours. While we’re unsure of the exact activities, we want to prevent any inappropriate or unsafe behavior in this area.
The pool will still be able to use the parking lot during the season, and residents can continue to access the trails, courts, and fields by walking around the chain. However, when the pool closes for the season, the chain will remain up at all times. This measure is simply a precaution to keep the park safe for everyone. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the HOA at hhcatrustees@gmail.com.
Street Parking Issues
Please note that the HOA does not have jurisdiction over the streets in our neighborhood. That authority falls under the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office. If you notice any issues with illegally parked cars or vehicles creating safety hazards on the streets, we encourage you to contact the sheriff’s office directly. Ensuring that streets remain clear and safe is an essential part of maintaining the overall security of our community.
General Safety Tips for Huntington Hills Residents
In addition to the recent updates, here are a few general safety tips to help keep our neighborhood secure:
- Lock Doors and Windows: Always lock your doors and windows, even if you’re just stepping out for a short time. This simple step helps deter potential thefts.
- Report Suspicious Activity: If you see anything unusual or suspicious, report it immediately to the local authorities. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
- Stay Visible at Night: If you’re out walking, especially with children or pets, consider wearing reflective clothing and using a flashlight. This is particularly important on streets with no sidewalks.
- Outdoor Lighting: Keep your home’s exterior well-lit at night. Motion-sensor lights or porch lights can help deter unwanted visitors.
Let’s Work Together
At the end of the day, keeping Huntington Hills safe is a team effort. We encourage all residents to be proactive, keep an eye out for each other, and report anything that seems off. We’re proud of our strong, connected community, and together, we can make sure it stays a wonderful place to live.
